Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the contractual relationship between you and us as you commit to applying for the Technical Champions Quality Mark. This is a legal document and you should ensure that you fully understand your responsibilities before submitting your application. By submitting your application you confirm that you accept these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them during your application for the Technical Champions Quality mark and after you have gained a Technical Champions award.

  1. The submission of your application is the first part of your formal application for the Technical Champions Quality Mark.
  2. A purchase order must be received by us before the assessment of your application can commence.
  3. We will supply you with a unique web link to a technician survey that you must share with all of your technical staff as part of your application. This URL should not be shared outside of your establishment and failure to share the URL with your technicians or a lack of completed responses by your technicians may result in this part of your assessment being voided.
  4. You must submit suitable documents with your completed application form in the quantity and format requested in the application guidance.
  5. The application must be completed by a member of your senior leadership team, the head or principle of your school/college or by the line manager of ALL of your technical staff only.
  6. You are entitled to submit only one (1) application at any one time. Multiple concurrent applications are not permitted and we reserve the right to dismiss your application(s) on that basis.
  7. If you fail to achieve one of the two levels of quality mark we will send you detailed feedback and targets for your next application. You may re-apply within 12 months of your initial application for no extra charge if you feel you can satisfy the targets we set out in the initial application feedback documentation.
  8. Accreditation lasts THREE YEARS from the date we award the quality mark.
  9. You must provide genuine and honest answers to questions on the main application form and back up these answers with evidence in the form of photos, web links or attachments where possible and where required. If we are in any doubt as to the accuracy of your answers or if we require further detail we will contact you for further information and/or evidence.
  10. Your application will be assessed by Preproom assessors against framework and benchmark standards created by UNISON and Preproom.
  11. Assessment will be made within 28 days of application where possible. In the event of a backlog of applications, we will contact you as soon as possible to give you an estimated completion date.
  12. The assessors can only take your completed application and attachments into consideration for assessment. We cannot take into consideration any additional information, attachments or evidence after the application has been received by us.
  13. We will grant you the Technical Champions Quality Mark or Technical Champions Quality Mark – Gold Standard award if we, at our sole discretion, consider that you have achieved a satisfactory level based on our framework and benchmarks. We will then authorise you to use the relevant quality mark that corresponds to your awarded level on your marketing and educational materials, including all on-line platforms as detailed in our assessment documents.
  14. You should not use any Technical Champions related material, images or content prior to achieving one of the two quality marks without our permission. You may only use or host images or links pertaining to your attainment of the quality mark during your three year achievement period.
  15. We may, at our absolute discretion, terminate your Technical Champions quality mark status and your authorisation to use any Technical Champions images, links or other content with immediate effect on written notice if: (a) you breach these Terms and Conditions and such breach (where it is capable of remedy) continues for a period of fourteen (14) days after receipt by you of a written notice alleging such breach; (b) you act or omit to act or conduct your business and operations in such a manner that, in our opinion, is detrimental to our reputation or image and/or to the reputation or image of Technical Champions; (c) you have provided in your application or at any time after being granted a Technical Champions quality mark, any information that was or is wrong or misleading, either by mistake or because you were trying to mislead us; (d) you challenge the validity of Technical Champions or use Technical Champions content in a manner which is not fully compliant with these Terms and Conditions; or (f) you act illegally or negligently at any time, and we believe it has significantly affected your Technical Champions award or is likely to harm our or your reputation and/or that of Technical Champions.
  16. After your three-year award period expires or is prematurely terminated, you must immediately cease using any Technical Champions logos or content online or in print or on social media, cease to display any award trophies or certificates and remove any reference to your former award status from any media. We will contact you six months before your current award period is due to end so that if you reapply, the crossover will be as seamless as possible and you may retain any Technical Champions content currently displayed.
  17. By applying you agree to us using any of the information you have supplied to suitably assess your application and to use part or all of it in feedback which will be returned to the person at your establishment who applied. You agree and accept that we may share information about your Technical Champions award status and all documents pertaining to it with any parties of our choice as well as with members of the public under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Details may also be broadcast on television, on our websites, in newspapers and through other media. (We would usually contact you first to notify you of any public use)
  18. You accept that there is no guarantee that Technical Champions will be available following the expiry of your current Technical Champions award nor that it will be administered and run by us in the future.
  19. We will not in any circumstance have any liability to you if we are for any reason prevented from, or delayed in, performing our obligations under these Terms and Conditions or from carrying on our business by acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control and we shall be entitled to such extension of time so as to permit us to perform our obligations.
  20. These Terms and Conditions are personal to you and shall not be transferred, assigned charged, sub-contracted or dealt with in any other manner.
  21. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or shall be deemed to, establish any partnership or joint venture between us and you, constitute you as our agent or otherwise authorise you to make and enter into any commitments on our behalf.
  22. You should inform us at admin@technicalchampions.org if you believe you will have difficulty completing your Application for the Technical Champions Quality Mark or have any questions about these Terms & Conditions or any other part of our website.
